An 88-year-old woman passed away between Tuesday and Wednesday while positive for Covid-19, becoming the country’s 450th victim of the pandemic, health authorities announced in their daily update.
170 women and 280 men have now passed away in Malta while positive for the Covid-19 virus.
32 new cases of Covid-19 were meanwhile reported by health authorities, with 60 people being reported as recovered.
This means that the number of active cases of the virus has decreased to 718.
25 patients meanwhile – seven less than Tuesday – are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, with five people remaining in intensive care.
Up till Tuesday, 807,825 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine had been administered – 3,468 of which are booster doses.
Malta has had 36,875 cases of the virus. 35,311 of those have recovered, while 450 have died.
