Covid-19: 24 new cases found as one patient dies

Twenty-four new Covid-19 cases were recorded in Malta on Tuesday as another elderly patient died, health authorities said.

The latest victim was a 91-year-old woman who was Covid-positive. No further details were given. This takes the total number of deaths to 456.

The authorities said that 21 patients are in hospital, four of whom are in intensive care. Another 43 people have recovered.

The total number of Covid cases is now 37,018, with 35,601 patients who recovered.

There are now 554 active cases.

Till Monday, 812,828 vaccination doses had been administered, of which 5,389 were booster doses.
