Repubblika complains to TVM over lack of coverage of press conference

NGO Repubblika has written a complaint to the state broadcaster over its lack of coverage of a press conference which it held on Thursday afternoon.

The NGO held a press conference on Thursday as it continued with its three-day sit-in protest in front of the police headquarters to announce details about a national protest slated to take place on Friday evening in front of Castille.

In his complaint, Repubblika President Robert Aquilina noted how the state broadcaster had neglected to even send a journalist to report on the press conference.

He noted that a journalist had attended when PN leader Bernard Grech visited the site, but that the state broadcaster had then effectively “censured” Repubblika and their announcement of a national protest.

The NGO said that TVM does not want people to know about the protest, and that they are in conspiracy with the office of the Prime Minister and interfere in the free choice of the people in whether they want to attend the protest or not.

The letter was also sent to the Broadcasting Authority.
