Eighty-six new Covid-19 cases were registered in Malta, as the number of active cases is edging closer to 1,000, figures released by the health authorities show.

Seventeen persons are in hospital, with two of them in intensive care.

The number of patients who recovered was 39, means that the number of active cases has increased again, to 954.

In all, 38,841 cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in Malta, while there were 37,104 persons who recovered.

The number of victims remains at 464.

Until yesterday, 936,815 vaccination doses were administered, of which 102,335 were booster doses.
