The AFM said one of its AW139 aircraft was used to winch CPD personnel and a civilian who were caught in this morning's storm.

The Civil Protection Department was busy all morning assisting motorists who found themselves in difficulty in flooded areas. Most parts of Malta were hit by incessant rain, with several incidents of cars carried away by rainwater being reported.
