San Anton School headmaster Sandro Spiteri has passed away, aged 56.
Spiteri had been ill for several months.
Parents were informed about Spiteri’s passing away by the school board.
Spiteri had previously taught Maltese at San Anton for eight years. He returned in 2020, when he was appointed head of school.
Throughout the years, Spiteri led national programmes to expand family literacy and foundet the Malta Writing Programme in 2001. He also lectured at the University of Malta.
Spiteri was also involved in the media, having been a columnist with Times of Malta between 2016 and 2020.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
