81 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Monday, as the number of hospitalisations increased.

61 people meanwhile have recovered, and with no new death reported it means that the number of active cases has risen to 1,313.

22 patients – three more than Sunday – are currently receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital, three of whom are in intensive care.

Up till Sunday, 974,618 doses of the vaccine have been administered, with 135,048 of those being booster shots.

Malta has had 39,923 cases of the virus. 37,823 of those have recovered, while 468 have died.
