Covid-19: 503 new cases recorded, three more deaths

The health authorities said Saturday that 503 Covid-19 cases were registered, while three more patients have died.

The victims are a man aged 62 and two women aged 69 and 86. They take the death toll to 504.

Sixteen patients have died this week, making it the worst tally since March 2021.

At present, there are 102 patients in hospital, with three of them in intensive care.

The number of recoveries totalled 1,307, bringing down the number of active cases to 10,754.

The authorities said that 1,165,421 vaccination doses have been administered, of which 303,033 are booster shots.

Malta has had 63,347 cases of Covid-19.  51,740 of those have recovered.
