Two people died while Covid positive, the health authorities announced on Sunday.

The two victims were a 75-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman. The total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic now stands at 506.

301 new cases were registered on Sunday as 1,133 people recovered from the virus.

This means that the number of active cases has now dropped to 9,920.

Currently 102 people at Mater Dei Hospital are Covid positive, 8 of whom are in the ITU.

Malta has had 63,648 cases of Covid-19.  52,873 of those have recovered.

1,168,755 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 305,549 of which are booster shots.
