A man was grievously injured on Monday afternoon after he was hit by a car, the police said.

The accident took place in St Joseph High Road, Hamrun, at 5pm.

The man, aged 58 of Hamrun, was hit by a Honda Fit driven by a 47-year-old woman of Pieta.

He was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
