An 85-year-old woman has become the latest person to die while positive for Covid-19, health authorities said on Tuesday as 186 new cases of the virus were reported.

286 people have, meanwhile, recovered from the virus, taking the number of active cases down to 2,230.

89 patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, with four of those in intensive care.

1,223,793 doses of the vaccine have been administered so far, with 335,128 of those being booster doses.

Malta has had 69,299 cases of the virus so far. 66,062 of those have recovered, while 571 have died.
