Masks no longer obligatory in public spaces

Monday, 14 March 2022, 15:29 Last update: about 3 years ago

As from today, Monday 14 March both vaccinated and unvaccinated people are no longer obliged to wear masks in public spaces.

As explained in a press conference last February, Health Minister Chris Fearne said that while mandatory masks in public spaces were no longer required, he reiterated the importance of still wearing a mask while indoors and at mass events.

Fearne had also announced that as Malta gears up for the summer period, the country can rest assured that there is no need for a fourth dose anytime soon.

“We will be looking to also remove all measures in place by the summer break.”
