An 81-year-old man has died while positive for Covid-19, as 353 new cases of the virus were reported by health authorities on Sunday.

163 people have recovered from the virus, meaning that the number of active cases has increased to 4,053.

82 patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, with four of those in intensive care.

Up till Saturday, 1,255,212 doses of the vaccine had been administered, with 349,845 of those being booster doses.

Malta has had 76,984 cases of the virus so far. 72,380 of those have recovered, while 631 have died.
