An elderly man was grievously injured on Friday after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a parked van.

The accident took place at around 8:50am in Triq il-Kottonera, Vittoriosa, the police said.

The man, 77, from Zabbar, was driving a Mitsubishi Pajero that crashed into a parked Ford Transit. He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

Police investigations are ongoing.
