Repubblika on Monday condemned what they described as the actions of criminals in government and the corrupt police over leaks in the Daphne Caruana Galizia murder investigation.

The NGO was reacting to a podcast interview where lawyer Arthur Azzopardi, who used to represent Vincent Muscat, said that that the suspected killers of Daphne Caruana Galizia were notified that they were going to be arrested days before.

The investigation of the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia was described by Azzopardi as being like a "sieve" full of leaks.

Repubblika said that after four and a half years still nothing has been done against the corruption within the police and against the government that they claim was involved in this ‘filth’, and said that they are asking for answers on who is being protected within these positions of power.

Moreover, they also commented on how these “corrupt police” were also putting innocent police officers at risk in order to serve their own criminal interests.

They stated that “these criminals in the Government and the dirty people within the police force decided to laugh at us and gloat about how much they were working to catch Daphne’s murderers.”

Following this, they singled out Joseph Muscat for calling a press conference to tell the country something which the criminals were already aware of.

Ultimately, they ended their statement by highlighting that they will stop at nothing until justice is achieved.
