Ten Yards Legal founder and lead advocate Dr Roselyn Borg is the new Chairperson of the Employment Relations Board. This consultative board brings together the representatives of employers and the unions where matters pertaining to industrial relations, conditions of work and workers are to be discussed.

In a post on Facebook, Borg commended her predecessor Tonio Portughese for his accomplishments, and expressed her eagerness to lead the process for the betterment of employment legislation, and the wider improvement of industrial relations in Malta.

Borg is a dual-qualified lawyer specialising in employment law. She has over 20 years’ experience working locally and overseas. After graduating from the University of Malta, she began her career with the Malta Employers Association. She subsequently moved to the UK and pursued an LLM at the De Montfort University in Leicester.

After working with reputable UK law firms, she went on to establish her own boutique law firm in Kent in 2009, specialising exclusively in providing employment law advice to employer and employee clients. Back in Malta in 2012, she continued her practice locally. Mirroring her experience in the UK, she set up another boutique law firm, specialising in the provision of expert advice in Malta, tailor-made to each client's specific legal and business requirements.

Borg has represented corporate clients across various industries, including manufacturing, gaming, financial services, and aviation. She also represents employee clients, and has also represented and assisted several C-level employees.

She also has vast experience representing parties before the Industrial Tribunal. Borg is also passionate about sharing her knowledge with others, and has amassed years of experience creating and organising training sessions and courses for clients on specific employment law subjects.

Borg is also a former Nationalist Party international secretary.
