A construction worker suffered grievous injuries when he fell one and a half storeys in a construction site he was working in.

The man, who police were unable to identify at the time, fell while he was carrying out works at a site located in Triq l-Imriehel, Birkirkara.

The accident happened at around 1:30pm, and the worker was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance for care.

He was there certified as having suffered from grievous injuries.

Police said that investigations are ongoing.
