A male cyclist was grievously injured in a traffic accident with a truck occurred on Sunday afternoon on Dom Mintoff street, Cospicua.

The police were informed around 4.15pm that their assistance was needed.

When the police arrived they noticed that the accident had occurred between a bicycle, on which there was a man from Hamrun, and a DAF LF55 220 truck, which was being driven by a 67-year-old man from Qrendi.

The cyclist was given assistance by a medical team and was taken to Mater Dei hospital in an ambulance.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
