Two injured in separate accidents

Two people were left hospitalised with grievous injuries in separate accidents on Wednesday afternoon, the police said.

In one accident – a traffic accident – a 76-year-old motorcyclist from Cospicua was injured after he was riding his Piaggio.

He was involved in a crash with a Toyota Yaris driven by a 39-year-old man from Zebbug in Triq Manwel Dimech in Qormi at around 12:30pm.

In a separate incident, a 46-year-old from Marsascala also suffered grievous injuries after he fell off some scaffolding at a construction site.

The man, who is an Albanian national, was carrying out works at a site on Triq F.C. Bourlemaque in Birzebbuga, and fell at around 3:15pm.

Both the men were taken to Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment and both suffered grievous injuries.

In both cases, police investigations are ongoing.
