Tuesday, 24 January 2023, 13:45 Last update: about 2 years ago

The Salesians of Don Bosco, on behalf of Don Bosco Foundation, on Tuesday launched a new educational Institute, 'St Francis De Sales Institute'.

The aim of the Institute is to focus on personal development, youth work, spiritually and the related soft skills with particular focus on the delivery of these courses through non-formal education, a statement sad. The non-formal method of education will be supported with a service producer and programme accreditation license being obtained from the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority.

Fr Robert Falzon, Head of the Institute, stated that although the content of these courses is valuable, the method of teaching is prioritized.

He explains that the content is focused on the knowledge exterior to the individual but the method is focused on the individuals and its holistic wellbeing. During the launch the logo of the Institute was presented, followed by a panel discussion with the theme of 'Edukazzjoni mhix Skola' with four educators who work in different educational realities.

This project has been partially funded by the Small Initiatives Support Scheme (SIS) managed by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector (MCVS) supported by the Ministry for Inclusion, Voluntary Organisations and Consumer Rights (MIVC).
