A worker was grievously injured in Thursday afternoon when machinery which was being carried by a fork lifter toppled on him, the police said.

The accident took place in a scrapyard in Luqa Road, Luqa at 2,30pm.

The worker, a 30-year-old man from Paola, was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
