PN organisational executive secretary resigns after 18 months

Monday, 6 February 2023, 15:22 Last update: about 2 years ago

Nationalist Party (PN) organisational executive secretary Rudolph Marmarà resigned after 18 months.

Marmarà told Lovin Malta that he submitted his resignation to step down from his role for “personal reasons”.

"Rudolph Marmara resigning is a big shock," sources told The Malta Independent on Sunday. "As Organisational Secretary he was the glue connecting the committees and organisations to the party itself. Everything went through him."

"He was also one of the few appointed by the leader so we never thought he would go against him. This is a huge blow to Bernard and to Piccinino,” the sources said.

The PN is yet to release a statement about Marmarà’s resignation.

The organisational executive secretary role was set up in 2020 and the person occupying the role is in charge of internal logistics and customer cases.

The organisations secretary was the right hand man of the secretary general, who was tasked with taking care of communications, party activities, mobilising the electorate and planning electoral campaigns.

The first organisational executive secretary was PN’s secretary general Michael Piccinino who was then succeeded by Marmarà after Piccinino became the secretary general in 2021.
