A French man died in a jetski accident in Gozo on Sunday, the police said.

The accident took place in Hondoq ir-Rummien, limits of Qala, at 1.30pm.

The man, aged 27, was on a jet ski with a French woman, aged 25.

The police were informed that the two had fallen off the jetski and needed assistance.

The man, the police, said was unconscious when he was lifted out of the water.

He was taken to Gozo Hospital where he died some time later.

Magistrate Brigitte Sultana is leading an inquiry.
