Dar Santa Rosa, a new privately run home for children and minors with disabilities, was inaugurated on Wednesday.

The home, situated in Mosta, is run by HILA Homes Ltd and comes after a €3 million investment.  It was inaugurated by Inclusion Minister Julia Farrugia Portelli, and is the first of its kind in Malta.

Farrugia Portelli described the private sector investment in the disability sector as a show of faith in the government’s work to provide a better quality of life for people with a disability and providing peace of mind for their relatives.

The minister said that “every child has a right to have an environment which is adapted to them, irrespective of their abilities.”

Dar Santa Rosa has 27 bedrooms spread across four storeys, with common parts including therapy rooms, recreational spaces with a small garden which will be equipped with sensory items.

HILA Homes Ltd CEO Janet Silvio said that Dar Santa Rosa will allow the company the opportunity to reach and help more people and families and offer them concrete support.

The aim is to make a difference in the lives of the families concerned, Silvio said.

Agenzija Sapport also has an agremeent in place with HILA Homes Ltd for services provided at Casa Apap Bologna in Mosta.
