Police inspections find 32 people living in Malta irregularly

32 people were found to be living in Malta irregularly, the police said in a statement.

The police force conducted a number of inspections related to irregular migration, it said.

"Wherever people were found without a valid permit, they were gathered and the process to send them back to their country of origin or the country where they have a legal permit to reside began. In Marsa, Hamrun, Mosta, Zebbug, Msida, Qormi, St Paul's Bay and Marsascala, the police were assisted by Detention Services and conducted a number of inspections on residences, public transport vehicles, and in zones where migrants are known to congregate for work."

In these inspections, 32 people were found to be in Malta irregularly, the police said.

"These inspections complement other inspections over the past days, including those on the roads tied to traffic, with the aim of continuing to work the strategy of prevention."
