The Cabinet has approved what Prime Minister Robert Abela said was “a fairer system for planning appeals.”
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Abela said that the “measure will suspend the commencement of construction works until the appeal process would be exhausted”.
The move comes after complaints that developers started or continued projects even though appeals before the Planning Authority would have been filed and are still to be decided.
In his post, the PM said that the public is encouraged to have their say in the upcoming consultation process.
