An elderly man was grievously injured after being hit by a vehicle, the police said.

The man, 72-years-old from Fgura, was taken to Mater Dei Hospital at around 7.35am on Monday. The accident occurred on Triq Bormla in Zejtun. Preliminary investigations found that the man was hit bya  Toyota Vitz that was being driven by a 27-year-old woman from Fgura.

Investigations are ongoing.
