Over €37.5 million in pharmacy fees as part of the POYC scheme has been paid out since 2021.
Nationalist MP Jerome Caruana Cilia asked Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne for the number of patients who are registered within the Pharmacy of Your Choice (POYC) scheme with every pharmacy in Malta and Gozo.
Fearne answered that there are currently 183,002 people registered within the POYC scheme across Malta and Gozo.
Caruana Cilia followed up by asking Fearne how much all the pharmacies in Malta and Gozo were paid for their POYC work during the years 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Fearne replied that pharmacy fees in 2021 totalled up to €7,792,228.72. He said that fees in 2022 totalled up to €14,872,158.28 and continued that fees in 2023 to this date have totalled up to €14,880,703.14. He added that there have been 1,111,486.73 Medicine User Reviews during 2023.
