There were 529 traffic accidents which involved a public bus and another vehicle between January and June of this year, Transport Minister Aaron Farrugia said.
In reply to a parliamentary question made by PN MP Graziella Attard Previ asking how many accidents involved a bus between January and June of 2023, Farrugia said that the operator of public transport has reported that 529 traffic accidents occurred between a public bus and another vehicle.
Farrugia remarked that the majority of these were minor accidents, such as "bumper to bumper."
He said that there were 224 incidents where a bus hit an object, and three incidents which involved people. Farrugia said that there were also 106 incidents which were not classified (miscellaneous).
