Transport Malta CEO removed, PN says

The CEO of Transport Malta, Jonathan Borg, has been removed from his position, the Nationalist Party has said.

The PN on Friday that some Transport Malta workers were told to lie under oath when testifying about the RHIBs scandal which afflicted the authority last summer. In a statement on Saturday, the PN said that there was no reaction from government officials to the scandal, but said that information the PN has, and as per reports in local media, the CEO was of Transport Malta was removed.

"This solves nothing as the whole truth needs to emerge. The PN urges the police to do its job and launch investigations without delay."

It said that people who need to be investigated still have access to internal investigations, and the PN also said that people on the investigation board are having direct contact with the same people being investigated.

The PN said that it is determined to see the contraventions scandal, the RHIBS scandal, and "possibly a number of other rackets in the authority" uncovered.
