PN leader Bernard Grech on Friday visited San Gwann where he met residents as part of activities the party is organising as the country heads to local council elections in June.
The PN leader also met businessmen in the locality who, according to a PN statement, spoke about the challenges they face each day.
The media was not invited for the activity.
The statement said that the residents and businessmen complained about the lack of consultation with regard to the project that the government is planning for the centre of the locality, with an underpass to be built beneath the main square which is to be turned into a pedestrian area.
They residents expressed concern about the possible damage that could be caused to the buildings surrounding the square.
Elderly residents who met Grech expressed their concern about their security and safety, the statement said.
