A motorbike rider was grievously injured in an accident at 11am.

The accident was on the limits of Buqana, Mdina. Preliminary investigations showed that a collision occurred between a Citroen C5 driven by a 27-year-old man from Mosta and a Triumph Tiger ridden by a 60-year-old from Marsascala.

The motorbike rider was taken to Mater Dei Hospital, suffering grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
