The government should offer incentives to companies that want to install PV panels, Opposition leader Bernard Grech said Tuesday.

He was speaking during a meeting the Nationalist Party had with the Malta Business Bureau.

In the last 20 years, the EU helped our country move forward economically especially in competitiveness and in economic growth, Grech said, and added that we now need to see that we continue on this path so that the Maltese people have a better quality of life. He went on to explain that such meetings help people and organizations understand the PN’s vision for our country.

Grech said that the PN feels that the government should incentivize those companies that want to install PV panels on their roofs and, furthermore, should ensure that the roofs of schools and other departments have PV panels.

Amongst other things, Grech mentioned that the PN has proposals to better help those to look after the environment. He also mentioned proposals in favour of holdings that embrace the ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria.
