A 57-year-old motorcycle rider was seriously injured on Sunday, in a crash on Burmarrad road.

The accident occurred at noon. Preliminary police investigations found that the accident occurred between two vehicles driving in the same direction. The vehicles involved were a Toyota Hilux driven by a 31-year-old from Mosta, and a Kymco Downtown, ridden by a 57-year-old man from Zebbug.

The motorbike rider was given first aid by a medical team and was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. He suffered serious injuries.

A magisterial inquiry was launched and police investigations are ongoing.
