Financial literacy competition held for children at SkolaSajf

Several children attending SkolaSajf had the opportunity to better understand the importance of the responsible use of money this week through practical learning by teachers and professionals from the financial sector. This climaxed via a competition held between the groups of children aged between seven and eleven years old.

At the end of this week, two groups of children were awarded a prize after winning two separate competitions. One group decorated a tree with words related to financial literacy. The second group of children who won this competition created a logo for this year’s GEMMA competition, creatively and through their team spirit.

This theme was discussed during classroom sessions and the children’s ideas formed the framework of these financial projects.

The Minister for Social Police and Children’s Rights, Michael Falzon, said that the branch within the Ministry, GEMMA, will continue to increase its outreach with the aim of reaching more children, teenagers, adults, and even pensioners.

Minister Falzon took the opportunity to congratulate the winning teams while sharing some words.

“Let’s continue to invest in today’s generation and promote a culture of wisdom and planning in order to really build strong children who know how to make good decisions from an early age,” concluded Minister Falzon.
