Former Nationalist Party MP Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando has reported threats sent to Karl Gouder, before his untimely passing, to the police.
Speaking to this newsroom, Pullicino Orlando said that the information he received came from a "credible source" and said that he has reported the threats sent to Gouder to the police.
Pullicino Orlando stated that he was not willing to divulge any extra information that was not already stipulated in his Facebook post, written last night on Tuesday evening.
In comments to The Times of Malta, Pullicino Orlando said: "I would not have been a good citizen had I received this information and decided to keep it to myself. I don't have tangible proof. But it was my duty to inform the police."
In his social media post, the Pullicino Orlando said that an individual - whose identity was not disclosed - had threatened Karl Gouder "simply because he decided to take the natural political step for him - to run for Secretary General for the party he loved so much."
"He tried to serve as best as he could, as he always did," Pullicino Orlando said while referring to his former colleague.
Pullicino Orlando's post was addressed to the person who allegedly threatened Gouder before his tragic passing.
"You should be ashamed to show your face in public - and sound off on others as if you are an oracle," Pullicino Orlando wrote.
