The funeral for former PN MP Karl Gouder will be held on Saturday, 14 September at 11am at the St Julian's Parish Church.

The details were announced by the Nationalist Party.

In a statement, the Nationalist Party said that dozens of people are visiting the Nationalist Party headquarters to sign the book of condolences opened in memory of Karl Gouder.

"Members of the public who wish to leave a message in memory of Karl can do so on Friday between 9am and 7pm, ahead of the celebration of Karl's life, which will be held on Saturday at 11am at the St Julian's Parish Church."

"The Leader of the Opposition and of the Nationalist Party, Bernard Grech, was the first person to sign the book of condolences.  On Friday morning, the Administrative Committee of the Partit Nazzjonalista, led by Deputy Leader Alex Perici Calascione and PN Secretary General Michael Piccinino, also signed the book of condolences."

Later in the afternoon, the book was signed by a delegation on behalf of the Labour Party, led by Prime Minister and PL Leader Robert Abela.

In a Facebook post, Abela said: "Karl Gouder was a politician who was respected by everyone. He worked without ever hurting anyone in the process. This is a moment in which we must uphold national unity."

Among those who visited the PN headquarters throughout Thursday to leave their messages was former Prime Minister and former PN Leader Lawrence Gonzi.

During the final farewell to Karl on Saturday, the funeral procession will pass by several locations symbolising the service Karl Gouder gave throughout his life in various sectors. These include places in St. Julians, where he served as Mayor and was active in several organisations, and the PN headquarters, where he is expected to be honoured by the leadership of the Nationalist Party, as well as by PN staff and NET Media employees. The general public can follow the funeral live on NET Television.

Gouder died in Valletta last Tuesday, just two days after he announced he was running for the post of PN Secretary General.
