This year's Malta Boat Show is set to be a maritime showcase of Malta's seafaring tradition due to its geographic position in the centre of the Mediterranean and further capitalize on the island's unique location, the government said in a statement.
The 2024 edition of The Malta Boat show was announced by Yachting Malta with the support of the Ministry of Transport and is set to be held between 31 October and 3 Novembru at Dock 1 in Cospicua. The Malta Boat Show have the potential to be a maritime showcase that will draw attention to the ever-growing maritime community in Malta and set beneth the Bormla bastions, the event wil emphasize the Maltese maritime tradition and strengthen its position as a primary player in the Mediterranean maritime scene.
Cospicua has historical and maritime significance, with Malta's geographic position in the Mediterranean serving as a centre of nautical activity with The Malta Boat Show striving to build on this heritage by creating connections between leaders in the industry, boat enthusiasts and professionals in the maritime sector.
Minister for Transport Chris Bonett showed his enthusiasm about the potential of the event in saying that, "Malta was always synonymous with the sea and this sector is an important economic pillar for Malta. The Malta Boat Show is proof of the commitment to develop and grow the maritime sector. We are eager to see The Malta Boat Show grow and attract international recognition to keep Malta the destination of choice for the international maritime community."
The Chairman of Yachting Malta Chris Agius spoke of the significance of The Malta Boat Show whilst noting that the response from the industry was very positive with great enthusiasm from exhibitors. He said that the Show is an event that not only promotes Malta's maritime heritage but also shows dynamic developments that are going on in the local industry.
"I am hopeful that the event will grown and become an important date in the calendars of international companies and brands. We are convinced that The Malta Boat Show will put Malta at the forefront of the maritime world in the Mediterranean," Agius said.
