An elderly man was seriously injured in an argument in St Paul's Bay, the police said.
At 10.30 am on Thursday, police assistance was requested on Triq it-Tartarun in St Paul's Bay. The police said that a 70 year-old English man had been injured, allegedly during an argument with a number of other people. A medical team provided assistance to the victim, who was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance for care, where he was certified as having suffered serious injuries.
Two English men, aged 85 and 72 who reside in St Paul's Bay, and a 72-year-old Maltese man who resides in Birżebbuġa, are being held under arrest.
Magistrate Antoine Agius Bonnici was informed about the case and an inquiry was launched. Police investigations are ongoing.
