Two men were grievously injured in separate accidents in Tarxien and Zebbug, the police said Thursday.

In the first accident, a 70-year-old man from Zabbar was hit bu a Ford Transit being driven by a 51-year-old man, also of Zabbar.

The accident took place in Zejtun Road, Tarxien, on Wednesday at 6.30pm.

In the second accident, a man aged 42 of Birzebbuga was injured after he lost control of the Yamaha bike he was riding and crashed.

The accident took place in Mdina Road, Zebbug, at 1am on Thursday.

Both men were taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
