The Ministry said that among the attractions that will be placed in the Kirkop Christmas Village will be a Christmas tree made of milk cartons, several traditional food stalls, as well as a special attraction that will fill the streets of Kirkop with snow.

Minister Owen Bonnici remarked that this initiative is very positive because it continues to confirm how much the country’s traditions and culture are a source of national pride. He continued that the village will be a unique opportunity for everyone who visits to live the experience of the festivities in an authentic and memorable atmosphere, and added that this attraction is not only for the Maltese and Gozitans, but also for tourists who want to live the experience of a typical Maltese village.

Parliamentary Secretary Alison Zerafa Civelli said that several Local Councils will be organising attractions in their respective localities during the month of December. She said that there will be a total of 30 local councils setting up initiatives through a special fund for cultural activities in Maltese and Gozitan towns and villages.

She remarked that it is a pleasure to not the number of local councils who will be offering free shows and attractions to families, and commented that this is another way in which the government is indirectly helping to increase the traditions and culture of Christmas in Malta while also raising the quality of life of the Maltese and Gozitans.

Kirkop Mayor Matthew Agius Zammit and members of the local council were present as well.
