There were 74,346 people aged sixty years old or older who used public transport through the Tallinja Card in 2024, Transport Minister Chris Bonett said on Monday.
The minister was replying to a question posed by Nationalist Party MP Paula Mifsud Bonnici, who asked how many elderly people used public transport since 2020, divided year by year.
Bonett listed statistics which show that there were 58,594 users of the Tallinja Card aged 60 or more in 2020. There were 49,425 such users in 2021, 60,443 in 2022, and 67,631 in 2023.
