Works on Zabbar Road have reached their final phase and are anticipated to be completed within a few weeks time, providing commuters with the option of alternative transport and a better view as they travel, the government said Saturday.
The Ministry for Transport said that the works in Zabbar Road, joining Zejtun with Zabbar have reached their final phase with completion expected in a few weeks' time. It said that Zabbar Road ispart of the 'Vjal Kulħadd' initiative which set to make travel safer and the road more pleasing to the eye through the planting of trees and shrubs.
Minister for Transport Chris Bonett said that Zabbar Road is a clear example of the vision the government is implementing with roads that once were only used by vehicles now offering secure space for cyclists and walkers.
"We are ensuring, where possible, such as the Msida Creek project, to work at night in order to respect the residents of those localities through the least inconvenience and the fastest completion of works," he said.
