The Labour Party issued a statement celebrating three years since the last general election.
"Three years of decisions in favour of all Maltese and Gozitans. They were three years during which the Labour Government continued to invest in the people, with the implementation of further social measures including increases in pensions, children's allowance and the biggest tax cut in our country's history which left an extra €140 million in peoples' pockets. Various incentives and schemes have been provided to young people and individuals to enable them to become home-owners."
"Despite the international challenges, in the last three years, a Labour Government has managed to keep the price of energy and fuels stable with hundreds of thousands of euros in subsidies for families and businesses. In the first 100 days of the legislature, a labour government introduced IVF, which enabled more people to become parents," the PL said.
"In the environmental field, the Labour Government launched several projects, including greening projects at Wied Incita and at the Ta' Qali National Park. Hondoq ir-Rummien, the land at Żonqor and the land in Cottonera between Senglea and Cospicua were protected. Project Green carried out several projects that included gardens and green spaces in the community, while a number of infrastructural projects were carried out, including the roads in Ħal Kirkop and the Airport Intersection Free sea transport was introduced at the Grand Harbour. Three years of further reforms in favour of fairness and equality, measures to fight domestic violence, reforms within the construction sector and also within the areas of justice, as well as a public consultation on the Labour Migration Policy."
"Over the past three years, Malta hosted some of the most important international events including MED9, which has led to an agreement for the EU to step up efforts to tackle immigration; the OSCE ministerial meeting, at the end of which an agreement was reached on the future of this organisation; and chaired the United Nations Security Council, which among others led to a resolution on the Middle East that allowed humanitarian corridors and the release of more than 100 hostages," the PL said.
"In 2023, Europride was held in our country for the first time. For the past three years, the Labour Government managed to attract further multi-million foreign investment, including from the likes of Ryanair, Lufthansa, and Easyjet, and also the expansion of key factories, such as Seifert. The Labour Party shall remain the largest political and progressive force that from the Government it continues to work daily to improve the quality of life of families, young people, the elderly and Maltese and Gozitan businesses."
