A man died in Gozo after falling from a height of around five storeys.

Yesterday, at around 8:30pm, the police were informed that assistance was needed at an apartment block in Triq Giorgio Borġ Olivier, Rabat (Victoria), Gozo.

Police officers went to the scene, and from preliminary investigations, it was found that a 40-year-old Indian man fell from a height of around five storeys into an internal courtyard. The man fell after trying to exit through a window, as he had been locked inside the apartment where he lived.

Members of the Civil Protection Department and a medical team were called to the scene, but unfortunately, the man was certified dead on site.

Magistrate Simone Grech was informed of the case and appointed several experts to assist in an inquiry that was launched. Police investigations are still ongoing.
