Thirty five international table-tennis umpires from 17 different European nations took part in a conference organized in Malta by the European Table-Tennis Union with the collaboration of the Malta Table-Tennis Association.

Malta won the right to stage the conference during the last Congress of the ETTU.

It was held at the Golden Tulip, Vivaldi Hotel in St Julian’s and was conducted by Richard Scruton, chairman of the International Referees Board of the ETTU.

IN view of the decisions taken which will be implemented during the forthcoming world championships in Bremen, Germany, in the next few weeks, the International Federation (ITTF) appointed Colin Clement and Cindy Leung to take part in the conference.

The Maltese Association was also represented at this conference with five international umpires who acted as observers.
