On 12 May, a massive 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit SiChuan province, China. More than 40,000 lives have been lost, 220,000 people were injured, and five million made homeless – it is indeed a tragic moment for the Chinese people as well as for the whole world.

The Overseas Chinese Committee in Malta would like to appeal to the proven generosity of the Maltese public to donate to the SiChuan, China Earthquake Relief Fund set up to help the earthquake victims.

Members of the committee will be at Valletta City gate from today to Saturday (9am-1pm), in order to accept donations. All donations collected will be sent to The Red Cross Society of China (RCSC).
