McLaren F1 Club member Saviour Grima, above, is the winner of this year’s fifth edition of the karting competition organised by the local McLaren Formula One supporters Club.

A record number of 33 competitiors, members and non-members, participated in this annual event which was sponsored by Vodafone (Malta) Ltd.

The event was held at the Badger Karting raceway at Ta’ Qali.

Overall winner Saviour Grima received the McLaren Karting Challenge Trophy and Vodafone merchandising from Joseph Baron, club official who was in charge of the event. Other trophies were presented to Martin Abela and Godwin Fenech, who placed second and third respectively.

Ms Penelope Ciangura, co-founder and Honorary Chairperson of the McLaren F1 Club, presented a token to Ms Denise Ross, Vodafone Brand Executive.
