The writ claimed that Mr Falzon’s reputation was severely tarnished after Joe Mizzi published an article in The Times in which he suggested that the chairman tampered with reports on the quality of water and other data in 2003.
The writ went on to say that if Mr Falzon’s request is not met, legal action will be taken against Mr Mizzi.
The protest was filed in the first hall of Civil Court by Dr Adrian Delia.
