The requested quit period lasts for four weeks, ie until 27 May. The aim of the competition is to encourage smokers to quit for one month, which may motivate participants to quit for life.
The participant is required to be at least 18 years of age and to have been a smoker for at least one year before the contest. The participants must complete an entry form by not later than the quit day (1 May). A draw will take place among the participants.
The winning candidates will be contacted immediately after the contest period. The abstinence is verified by a witness and a biochemical test.
Those who have succeeded in quitting the habit are eligible for the national and international money prizes.
The national prizes consist of:
• A Volkswagen Polo
• Two treadmills
• One day trip to Sicily
The international prizes consist of $10,000 and a regional prize of $2,500 (provided by the International Quit and Win Coordinating Centre), which will be drawn among the main prize winners of each country.
The probability of winning is proportional to the number of participants in each country.
